One of the perks of when I worked for an international travel company is having access to certain cruises before they reached the public.
An inaugural cruise is when the cruise lines test the ship before beginning the cruising season. In this case, we were testing the Norwegian Cruise Line ship, the Bliss.
The cruise was a 2-night, 3-day cruise out of Long Beach, California down to Ensenada, Mexico.
Being our first cruise, we didn’t know what to expect. The first thing I noticed was that this ship was massive! How they get this thing to float is beyond my comprehension. With that said, here’s how the short Norwegian Bliss Inaugural Cruise went.
Finishing Avoya Travel Conference And Embarking
I had a conference for work during that week, so I was meeting Helena on the ship. However, our phone service stopped working when we got on the boat.
I was hungry. So I got a burger at one of the lounges. With this being an inaugural, all the food and drinks were included. Nice!
It felt weird eating and drinking without paying. However, I could get used to this! I went to the room and there was my beautiful wife. Since Helena was hungry, we decided to go back to the Lounge for a drink and some appetizers.
Day 2 On Norweigan Bliss
After a quick meeting with my company in the morning, we had the entire day to explore. Unfortunately, most of the shows and activities were booked up. No worries! I can find things to keep me occupied!
They even had an arcade! Everything was set to free play. Helena and I played a racing game which was a lot of fun!
Lunch And Dinner On The NCL Bliss
For lunch, we went to the Garden Café. It is essentially a buffet-style restaurant with cuisine from around the world. Some of our favorites were the Indian Butter Chicken and the King Crab Legs!
On Saturday night, we went to a restaurant called Taste. I had the prime rib and Helena had surf and turf. It was amazing and a great way to end an amazing short trip on the Norwegian Bliss.
Last Day Of The Cruise
Not much to say here. Sunday we got up, had breakfast, and left the ship. Although it was a short trip, it got our feet wet with cruising. I can understand now why people get hooked on cruising.
We were hooked and even planned another Norweigan cruise because of our great experience. You can check out our amazing cruise to Italy on the NCL Epic here.
